WHO WE HELP.

We aim to help 8 million marginalized people in Guinea access quality and affordable care to boost their health, productivity and increase their quality of life, which in turn will help them fight hunger and malnutrition, while increasing their income and lifting them out of poverty. Our beneficiaries are mostly families whose primary source of income is farming, and whose work is the lifeblood of the rural economy:

  • Guinea ranks 178 out of the 189 countries in the 2020 UN Human Development Index, with a life expectancy of 61.6 years and poverty rate of 66%.

  • Nearly 90% of healthcare expenses in Guinea are for outpatient services, which do not require specialist referrals or hospitalization.

  • The average out of pocket expenditure is $66 per visit, and government health expenditure per capita is only $6.30.

  • More than 50% of the population we serve are poor and live on an annual income below US $300 per inhabitant.
